Who sets it

The minimum wage is set by law, in the annual State Budget law, as a monthly and an hourly amount.

How it changes

The amount is set each year in the budget and has been adjusted during the year in some years.

Who is covered, and who is treated differently

  • It applies to all employees, subject to the exceptions in the law.

What to watch for

  • Check the budget law for the current year; martial law may change how rules apply.

Understand the legal system first

Ukraine belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
