Minimum wage in Luxembourg
Luxembourg has a legal social minimum wage that is indexed to prices, with a higher minimum for skilled workers. It is among the highest in Europe.
Headline figure (second half of 2026)
2,771 EUR per month
Eurostat's gross, full-time monthly figure; 13th and 14th-month payments are spread over twelve months.
Roughly US$3,106 a month for a full-time worker, at exchange rates of 2026-10-09. This is a rough comparison only and does not show buying power.

Who sets it
The law sets the social minimum wage. It is adjusted by law and increased automatically when the price index rises past its trigger.
How it changes
Parliament reviews the rate by law at regular intervals, and automatic indexation raises it between reviews.
Who is covered, and who is treated differently
- A skilled worker, with a recognised qualification, is entitled to a minimum that is a fixed percentage higher than the unskilled rate.
- Lower percentages apply to some very young workers.
What to watch for
- Check whether you are classed as skilled or unskilled, which changes the minimum that applies.
Understand the legal system first
Luxembourg belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
