Minimum wage in Poland

A statutory national minimum wage

Poland has a national minimum wage set every year by the Council of Ministers after talks in the Social Dialogue Council. There is also a minimum hourly rate for some people on civil-law contracts.

Headline figure (second half of 2026)

4,806 PLN per month

Eurostat's gross, full-time monthly figure; 13th and 14th-month payments are spread over twelve months.

Roughly US$1,230 a month for a full-time worker, at exchange rates of 2026-10-09. This is a rough comparison only and does not show buying power.

Check the date. Minimum wages change, in many countries every year. The figure above is the one in force at the date shown. Confirm the current amount with the official source below before you rely on it. This is general information, not legal or employment advice.

Who sets it

The Council of Ministers sets the minimum monthly wage by regulation after negotiations in the Social Dialogue Council. If the parties do not agree, the Government decides.

How it changes

It is set each year, and the law allows a second increase in the middle of the year when inflation is high.

Who is covered, and who is treated differently

  • A separate minimum hourly rate applies to certain civil-law contracts such as contracts of mandate.
  • The minimum applies to employees on an employment contract.

What to watch for

  • Check whether you are on an employment contract or a civil-law contract, because different minimums apply.

Understand the legal system first

Poland belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
