Minimum wage in Thailand
Thailand has a daily minimum wage that differs by province. A national tripartite committee sets it, based on recommendations from provincial committees.

Who sets it
The national Wage Committee, with representatives of Government, employers and workers, decides, after considering recommendations from the provincial wage committees.
How it changes
The rates are changed by a notification published in the Royal Gazette. The committee has set them in steps, sometimes in the middle of the year.
Who is covered, and who is treated differently
- Rates differ by province and sometimes by type of business within a province.
- Rates are stated per day.
What to watch for
- There is no one figure for the country. Find the rate in the current gazette notification for the province.
Understand the legal system first
Thailand belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
