Who sets it
The Minimum Wage Law sets the minimum as a share of the average wage in the economy, and the amount is updated each year.
How it changes
The amount is updated on 1 April each year, following the formula in the law.
Who is covered, and who is treated differently
- Lower percentages apply to workers under 18.
- The hourly amount depends on the number of monthly hours the employer's working week represents.
What to watch for
- The figure shown is for a full-time monthly employee.
Understand the legal system first
Israel belongs to the Mixed: civil and common law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
