Minimum wage in Denmark
Denmark has no statutory minimum wage. Wages and minimum rates are settled by collective agreements between unions and employers, which cover most of the labour market.

Who sets it
Collective agreements between unions and employers' organisations set minimum pay and working conditions. The state leaves this to the social partners.
How it changes
Agreements are renegotiated on a regular cycle, and rates change when the agreement is renewed.
Who is covered, and who is treated differently
- Most employees are covered by a collective agreement, either directly or because their employer follows the agreement.
- Where there is no agreement, pay is set by contract.
What to watch for
- There is no single figure to quote. Find the agreement that applies to the sector.
Understand the legal system first
Denmark belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
