Who sets it
A law sets the minimum wage. The Minister adjusts it each year, taking account of the cost of living and the opinion of the social partners.
How it changes
It is adjusted each year to inflation and is reviewed from time to time by law.
Who is covered, and who is treated differently
- Supplements for work at night, on holidays and overtime are paid on top of the minimum wage.
What to watch for
- The figure is the gross monthly amount, excluding such supplements.
Understand the legal system first
Slovenia belongs to the Civil law family. How pay is regulated depends on how the legal system makes and applies labour law.
