One court in Strasbourg that hears complaints against the member states of the Council of Europe, after national remedies have been tried. It has its own levels, but these are formations of the same court.

Worth knowing
- A person must first use all remedies in the national courts, and must apply within a set time after the final national decision.
- A judgment against a state is binding, and the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe supervises it.
