Capstone: Priya Nair and the café on the high street

Priya Nair is an invented owner of a small café in a market town in Wales. In one season several things go wrong. Her flour supplier, Dalton Mills, agreed in writing to supply her at a fixed price for six months, and after two months told her that it would stop because its costs had risen. A customer, Mr Evans, slipped on a wet floor by the counter and broke his wrist; there was a yellow warning sign, but it was behind a door. The council refused to renew her licence to put tables on the pavement, without telling her why and without hearing from her, and a week later she heard that a rival café had been granted one. Her part-time employee, Liam, was arrested on suspicion of taking cash from the till and held at the police station overnight. And Priya, who bought a flat with her partner Marcus in joint names two years ago, with a larger deposit from her, has decided that they should separate. You are asked to advise her. Use the questions you have learned: which area of law is this, what are the elements, which court and which time limit, and what remedy.
