Saudi Arabia

A kingdom in which the Basic Law names the Quran and the Sunnah as the constitution and, in a few years, modern statutes have codified personal status, civil transactions and evidence, a new companies law has opened the door to investors, Premium Residency has created a route that is not tied to one employer, and a 2026 law has set a new framework for foreign ownership of real estate. How the system works, how to live, work, invest and buy there, and where the risks lie. Free articles, organized by subject, growing every week.

Who This Page Is For

This portal collects material on the law of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, an Islamic monarchy in which the Basic Law of Governance names the Quran and the Sunnah as the constitution and royal decrees, Council of Ministers resolutions and ministerial regulations now cover most of commercial, labour, company, property and procedural law. It is written for readers who visit, live, work, study, invest or buy property in the Kingdom, for Saudi readers who want to understand their own legal system, and for anyone comparing legal systems, and it explains laws, institutions and procedures without giving legal advice or opinions on individual cases. Many Saudi laws are new, and regulations, fees and zones change often. Everywhere else on this site, content reflects US law unless a page says otherwise.
