The Law To Know

Module 8

Living in Spain, criminal law and cross-border disputes: immigration, everyday legal life, offences and trials, mediation and arbitration, and private international law

The last module gathers what a foreigner meets most often: **getting the right to stay**, **living day to day** (home, health, consumer rights), **criminal law and procedure** if something goes wrong, **settling disputes** and working out **which law and which court apply to a cross-border relationship**. Most of these rules combine the **Organic Law on Foreigners**, **EU law** and **national codes**. **Procedures, fees, thresholds and visa schemes change often**, so they are not stated here, and each topic should be checked against the **current text**.
