How to use it
- When: you rent a home, a room or a space from a landlord and you want to let all or part of it to someone else (a subtenant) for a limited time, for example while you are abroad or to share the cost.
- Landlord's consent: in many countries you may sublet only with the landlord's written permission, and a sublease without it can end your own lease. Get the consent first and attach it.
- Fill in everything in [square brackets] and delete the options you do not use. Attach a copy of your lease (the "Main Lease") and an inventory of the home.
- Form: write it down and have both parties sign, one copy for each.
- Not for: commercial premises, holiday lets or a lease where the main lease forbids subletting and the landlord has refused.
