How to use it
- When: a host lets a home, apartment or room to a guest for a short stay (usually a few nights to a few weeks), directly or in addition to a booking platform, and both sides want the terms in writing.
- Who signs: the host (the owner, or a tenant with the owner's permission to sublet) and the guest who makes the booking. The guest who signs answers for everyone in the party.
- Fill in everything in [square brackets] and cross out options that do not apply. Describe the property and what is included exactly.
- Agree the money clearly: the total price, the deposit, any cleaning fee and any tourist tax. Say what is included and what is not.
- Attach the house rules and the condition report (see the two matching templates), and photograph the property at check-in.
- Tip: if you are not the owner, check your lease or building rules first. Many leases and apartment buildings forbid short lets, and breaking that rule can cost you your own home.

What these templates are not
- They are self-help templates, not legal advice, and they do not replace a lawyer.

- For a high-value or unusual situation, ask a local lawyer or notary to look at the final text.
