How to use it

  • When: a home, apartment or room is let for a short or long stay and both sides want a written, signed record of its condition and contents on arrival and on departure.
  • Who signs: the host (or the host's representative) and the guest or tenant, at check-in, and again at check-out. Each keeps a copy.
  • Fill in everything in [square brackets] and cross out options that do not apply. Go room by room, together, and write what you actually see.
  • Take dated photographs of every room, of any damage, and of the meter readings, and attach or list them.
  • Be fair and specific: write "scratch on the left side of the table, about 10 cm" rather than "damaged".
  • Tip: if the condition cannot be checked together, the person who is absent should get the report and photographs at once and be asked to confirm or comment in writing within a few days.
