Capstone: Meera Iyer and the handloom business

Meera Iyer is an invented entrepreneur who runs **Kaveri Handlooms**, a small textile business with a weaving shed and a **dyeing unit** in Bengaluru, as a private limited company of which she is the managing director. In one year, several things happen. The **State Pollution Control Board** orders the dyeing unit **closed** with immediate effect, in a two-line order, after an inspection, without hearing her. A **supplier of cotton yarn** delivers half the yarn and refuses the rest, so that Meera loses orders; their contract has an **arbitration clause**. **Divya**, a designer of three years, leaves to join a rival; her contract has a **two-year non-compete clause** and a confidentiality clause. A **customer’s cheque** for 6 lakh rupees is returned unpaid. Meera’s **father**, a Hindu, has died **without a will**, leaving a house in Mysuru that he bought himself, worth about **90 lakh rupees**, and his widow Lakshmi, Meera and her brother Arjun. Finally, **Sunil**, an accounts clerk, is **arrested** on a customer’s complaint of cheating, and phones Meera from the police station. You are asked to advise.
