Who This Page Is For

This portal collects material on the law of Mainland China, written for foreigners: those who visit, live, work, study or invest there. It explains laws, institutions, procedures and risks, and it does not give legal advice or opinions on individual cases. Hong Kong and Macao have their own legal systems and Taiwan is outside this collection. Everywhere else on this site, content reflects US law unless a page says otherwise.
